Thief (2013)
Okay, Most websites say that this game is pretty awesome , but is it ? i think so , but the question is will.it.work.on.a.8730m ? and is buying and playing it on a 8730m worth it ?
First of all i should say that thief is a very hardware hungry game.If you own any integrated GPU except iris pro 5200 or AMD radeon r7 (kaveri) you should probably NOT buy it and rather start saving for a better Laptop/GPU , unless you were going to download it illegally , which BTW I do NOT condone.
Now the main oint (no that's NOT a mistake) .My preferred resolution is anything above 720p , because any thing that has the words 4:3, makes me want to kill myself(BTW suicide is a very serious Problem and shouldn't be taken lightly), but do not
worry 8730m owners even with 720p and the low settings ,you should probably get around 30-50 fps , but the real problem is when you are at the city streets(only the really large places with lots of people) where fps drops to around 15-25 fps , but I finished the game and I don't really remember being annoyed by it, Only the first mission is annoyingly slow but after that is smooth sailing almost all the way .
720p(1280x720)
Very low 20-60 fps
low 15-50 fps
normal 10-40 fps
768p(1366x768)
Very low 20-60 fps
low 10-50 fps
normal 10-30 fps
So if you are a die hard fan of the thief series and a not-so proud owner of a 8730m then you should buy the game or wait till you get better hardware , but if you like eye candy more than anything , GET better HARDWARE, for the casual stealth gamer and 8730m owner , thief should be fine in graphics and game play and story.
